We would like to share with you the goals for all our programs at CCGC:

  1. FUN - Learning, fitness and gymnastics should be a fun activity for children of all ages and abilities.
  2. DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE ACTIVITIES - Care must be taken to be sure that our programs are safe, educationally sound and appropriate for the ages and individual learning styles of all our students.
  3. FOCUS ON SUCCESS - We feel it is our job to help each child feel that he or she is successful in learning and practicing their skills and activities.
  4. POSITIVE SELF-ESTEEM - We hope to help each child feel good about himself or herself and his or her accomplishments.
  5. MOTOR DEVELOPMENT/SKILL ACQUISITION - We will help each student become a more proficient mover, master a broad base of basic motor skills and begin to refine specific, progressive gymnastics skills.
  6. FITNESS AWARENESS - We will help the children become aware of the importance of improving and maintaining their own fitness. They will see how participation in this program contributes to their current fitness level and helps to build a positive self-image that can influence lifetime fitness.
  7. SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT - We hope to contribute in a positive way to the social and emotional growth and development of each child.

OUR MISSION

WE BELIEVE THAT CHILDREN ARE OUR GREATEST RESOURCE. WE WILL STRIVE TO TEACH THEM WELL AND HELP THEM TO FIND WAYS TO BECOME YOUNG PEOPLE WHO TAKE PRIDE IN THEMSELVES AND THE WORLD AROUND THEM.

To this end, we are a school that serves the children and families of Greater Portland in the areas of movement education and gymnastics, with a strong emphasis on lifetime fitness habits and attitudes. The use of developmentally appropriate activities and teaching methods as well as an awareness of the various social needs of the different age groups will serve to guide us as we help our students learn new physical and social skills and develop excellent fitness habits and attitudes. If we do our job correctly, each child will leave us feeling better about his or her self and have a more positive self-esteem.

Excellent customer service is our next most important focus. In meeting the needs of our students and their families, everything we do must be of high quality. We must constantly strive to offer pleasant, accurate, efficient service to all the adults and children we serve. We must continually look for improvement in how we meet the needs of our customers, and we must never forget that we are here to provide a service to our customers. We must show them that we appreciate that they have chosen us to be of service to them.

Our relationship to our employees is vital. Our staff will be caring professionals whose desire to help young children grow and learn will be the foundation for all their actions as employees of our company. Our teachers must be pleasant at all times, even under stress, show a genuine liking for all children and show an understanding of each child's unique personality and pace of development. We in turn must respect the dignity of our staff and recognize their merit. They must have a sense of security in their jobs, fair compensation and clean, safe working conditions. There shall be ample opportunity for personal and professional growth via a sense of empowerment. They must feel supported by competent, caring management. Continuing education for all within the company shall be of high priority.

Finally, we are indebted to the communities in which we live and work, and to the state of Maine for providing such a high quality of life for those who live here. We will be good citizens and support the charities, civic services and corporations that contribute to better health and education for the people of Maine and that protect the natural resources of our state, our country and our planet.
